“Going Platinum” is a 10-episode series, previously announced as “Hitmakers,” currently in production in Los Angeles and will follow 12 musicians as they compete in songwriting challenges — from dance tracks to love ballads.

The winner will receive a $100,000 cash prize, a publishing deal and a recording deal with RCA/Jive.

The series is expected to premiere in 2011.
